COMPETITION RULES Amended 2017

                                                               All Competitions  Finals will be subject to the B.C.G.B.A. Dress Code

        TEAM KNOCK OUT
        A team knock out shall be run for each division in the league and prize money paid to the last four in each division
  1. Team to consist of 6 male bowlers who have played for their club in the Mid Shropshire Senior Citizens Bowling League but will only be allowed to play for one team in this Competition.
  2. Games 21 up, Highest aggregate team score to be the winners.
  3. Prior to the game, Match captains shall nominate a player to play in a play off in a game 15 up in case of the original game finishing on equal  scores.
  4. League K O cup finals to be played over two days not necessarily in the same week. This will allow time for Referees to be available and also take the pressure off the competition Secretary and officials.
  5. All cup competitions  including finals that are played on neutral greens, both clubs will be required to pay green fees to the host club, Nominal amount suggested is 50p per player.
  6. A list of cup final teams together with reserves must be given to the competition secretary by both clubs 14 days before final takes place.
  7. Any player who is a member of another club playing in a different league will not be allowed in any round or final of a cup competition, if it is played on any green of the club of which that player is a member. 
  8. Due to cancellation, Cup Competition matches must be played on or before the allocated  date this can only
    be changed under special circumstances ie; Bereavement.         
       INDIVIDUAL MERIT
  1. All entries must be 65 or over and played in the league during the current season,
  2. Last 8 to qualify for final. Note … scratch out time 15 minutes before start time

       DOUBLES 
  1. All entries must be 65 or over 
  2. Each pair must be on the registered list of the same club, and have played in the league during the current  Season, 
  3. Last 8 to qualify for the final. Note … scratch out time 15 minutes before start time
       OVER 75`s       
  1. Players must have reached the age of 75 prior to the date of the qualifying round during the current playing season   Note … scratch out time 15 minutes before start time
  2. Games in this competition will be 21 up in all  rounds;- QUARTER FINAL- SEMI FINAL – FINAL.
       CHARITY SHIELD (THE HUNTSMAN OF LITTLE WENLOCK)
  1. (a) The team shall consist of 6 players who have played for their club.
    1 (b). Due to the Handicap System no established player from a higher division will be allowed to play for a team of a lower Division in this competition.
  2. No player to play for more than one team. 
  3. Each team will be handicapped according to which division they will be playing in.
  4. All games to be 21 up. 
  5. Away team has the jack, except in the quarter final, semi –final and final to be played on neutral greens.
    where the jack will be decided by the toss of a coin.
  6. The winner will be the team with the highest aggregate after the handicap has been added or subtracted.
  7. In the event of a tie, the team winning the most games will be declared the winners. If still a tie. one player from each team  Nominated prior to the start of the game will play a game of 15 up with the following  handicaps. Div  1 …  scratch.       Div  2 …   receives 2 chalks     Div 3 …  receives  3 chalks    Div  4 …  receives  4 chalks
  8. THE TEAM DRAWN FIRST WILL PLAY AT HOME IRRESPECTIVE OF HANDICAP.
  9. Handicaps as follows    Div 1… Scratch     Div  2…. +12 points   Div 3…. +24 points  Div  4 …. +36 points 
  10. Any two (2) teams from the same division drawn against each other, the team drawn away to receive a +12 point handicap.
  11. Any two (2) team from the same club and the same division drawn against each other will both start on scratch.
  12. The losing finalist  to receive the JACK JONES CHARITY SHIELD. 
  13. Each team entered will pay a minimum entry fee of  £5-00.  Teams deciding not to enter this Competition, the league would ask them to make a donation to the charity.
  14. All Monies will go to a Local Hospice.
  15. A list of cup final teams together with reserves must be given to the competition secretary by both clubs 14 days before the final takes place.
