Welcome to the official site of the Mid-Shropshire Senior Citizens Crown Green Bowling League.
Sponsored by Peter Morris Cars Ltd
The league was established in the Telford area by Mr John Jones in 1976. Today, it consists of some 26 clubs which compete in teams of six in four divisions on Wednesday afternoons.
When launched in 2011, this web site provided a full results service based on the old PC based 'allbut' system managed by Fixture Secretary Frank Booth but this was replaced after three years by Mike Beckett's revolutionary online results system to which we now link.

Bowling not permitted during lockdown
Another change in restrictions from Thursday, 5th November. Having read these we are of the opinion that there is no way crown green bowling can take place within a safe environment and in consultation with the BCGBA, we are directing clubs/players to stop crown green bowling from Thursday, 5th November 2020.
We appreciate this may cause disruption to ongoing winter leagues, club competitions (internal and open) and casual bowling but our view is that the health and safety of our members is of paramount importance and overrides other considerations.
When these restrictions are lifted/amended we shall issue further directions.
In the meantime all stay safe

Donation to the Telford Hospice
From League Secretary John Ford:
I have been asked to write to you with regards to our annual contribution to the local Telford Hospice. As you are no doubt aware, this has not taken place due to the cancellation of league bowling due to Covid-19.
Officers of the league have decided as a gesture to carry out our tradition as usual and present a cheque to the Telford Hospice. All charities have suffered during these unprecedented times and our usual donation would no doubt be gratefully received.
Therefore, the officers have decided to ask all clubs if they would please donate £5 per team which is the amount collected during a normal season.
The usual amount we present is £300 and any shortfall from club donations will be made up to this amount by the league.
Please forward your club's donation to our treasurer Graham McCarthy 24 Lyncroft, Albrighton WV7 3QJ. Cash or cheques payable to Mid Shrop Sen Cits Bowling League.
Any queries, please contact myself and many thanks to you in anticipation.03 Nov 20
